Podcasting Technology
Podcasting is the syndication of sound and video files over the Internet. It was invented in 2001 by Adam Curry and Dave Winer and became popular in 2004. This technique was initially used to deliver content to Apple iPod players. The term comes from the combination of the words iPod and Broadcasting. It is now applied to the distribution of all types of files for any type of player or viewer.
The podcast feed is a file located on a web server. It lists the name, location, and description of files ready for distribution. The Tech Talk Radio podcast feed uses the RSS (Really Simple Syndication) format. This feed is read by an RSS reader.
